Problems We Solve

Refrigerator Issues We Diagnose Every Day

Our certified technicians have seen every failure mode across every major brand. Here’s what we repair — and what’s typically behind each problem.

Accredited-icon

Not Cooling or Not Cold Enough

The most time-sensitive fridge problem. Food spoils within hours once temperatures climb above 40°F. Could be a compressor issue, a refrigerant leak, or something as simple as dirty condenser coils — all fixable.

Likely Cause
Failed compressor, dirty condenser coils, bad thermostat, or refrigerant issue

Accredited-icon

Leaking Water Inside or Underneath

Puddles under the fridge, water pooling inside on lower shelves, or ice forming at the bottom of the freezer. Left unaddressed, leaks damage flooring and invite mold growth inside the unit.

Likely Cause
Clogged defrost drain, cracked drain pan, or failed door gasket

Ice Maker Not Producing Ice

The most time-sensitive fridge problem. Food spoils within hours once temperatures climb above 40°F. Could be a compressor issue, a refrigerant leak, or something as simple as dirty condenser coils — all fixable.

Likely Cause
Water inlet valve, clogged filter line, ice maker assembly, or freezer temp issue

Accredited-icon

Water Dispenser Not Working

Slow trickle, no water at all, or dripping when it shouldn’t be. Usually a clogged or expired water filter, a failed water inlet valve, or a frozen supply line running to the door.

Likely Cause
Clogged filter, failed inlet valve, or frozen door water line

Accredited-icon

Loud or Unusual Noises

Rattling, clicking, buzzing, knocking, or a new hum that wasn’t there before. Some refrigerator noise is normal — but new or worsening sounds usually signal a component that’s beginning to fail.

Likely Cause
Clogged defrost drain, cracked drain pan, or failed door gasket

Refrigerator-icon

Frost Buildup in Freezer

Thick frost coating the freezer walls, covering the food, or building up on the evaporator coils. This reduces efficiency and, if ignored, can lead to the freezer shutting down entirely.

Likely Cause
Failed defrost heater, defrost thermostat, or worn door gasket

Accredited-icon

Runs Constantly — Never Cycles Off

A fridge that never stops running is working too hard — driving up your electric bill and straining the compressor toward an early failure. Usually easy to fix before it becomes a bigger problem.

Likely Cause
Dirty condenser coils, bad door gasket, or faulty thermostat or thermistor

Accredited-icon

Temperature Swings & Fluctuations

Food freezing in the fridge section, or temperatures swinging between too warm and too cold. Inconsistent temps stress food quality and indicate a control system problem.

Likely Cause
Temperature sensor, thermistor, control board, or damper control failure

Refrigerator-icon

Completely Dead — Won't Turn On

Thick frost coating the freezer walls, covering the food, or building up on the evaporator coils. This reduces efficiency and, if ignored, can lead to the freezer shutting down entirely.

Likely Cause
Failed defrost heater, defrost thermostat, or worn door gasket

FAQ

Common Questions

(719) 494-1588

How much does a refrigerator repair cost?

Our pricing is straightforward and transparent:

$159 Minimum Repair Charge per appliance ($199 on military bases)
Parts and any additional labor are extra and will be fully itemized in your estimate before work begins.

$89 Estimate-Only Charge per appliance ($129 on military bases)
This applies only if you choose not to proceed with repairs. If you do proceed, this fee is not charged. Discounts do not apply to this charge.

What warranty do you offer on repairs?

Every repair comes with a 90-day warranty on both parts and labor. If the same issue returns within 90 days, we come back at no charge. A lifetime warranty on parts is also available for an additional charge — ask when we provide your estimate. Warranties do not apply to rental properties.

What if I get an estimate but decide not to repair?
If you choose not to proceed after our technician diagnoses the problem, the estimate-only fee of $89 per appliance ($129 on military bases) applies. Discounts do not apply to this charge. If you move forward with the repair, only the repair charge applies.
How soon can you come out for a refrigerator repair?
We strive to schedule refrigerator repairs as quickly as possible — often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. A broken fridge is an emergency and we treat it that way. Call or text Nikki at (719) 494-1588 to get on the calendar fast.
Is it worth repairing my refrigerator or should I replace it?
It depends on the age, brand, and cost of repair. As a general rule: if the repair cost is less than half the price of a comparable new unit and the fridge is under 10–12 years old, repair is almost always the smarter financial move. We’ll give you an honest assessment — we won’t recommend a repair that doesn’t make sense.
Do you repair all brands of refrigerator?
We work on all major brands — Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Maytag, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Bosch, Amana, Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador, Electrolux, and more. If you don’t see your brand, just call and we’ll let you know.
My fridge stopped working suddenly — what happened?
Sudden failures are often caused by a failed start relay on the compressor, a tripped thermal overload, a bad control board, or a power supply issue. First check that the outlet and circuit breaker are fine — then give us a call. Most sudden failures are diagnosed and fixed in a single visit.
What does your 90-day warranty cover?
Our standard 90-day warranty covers both parts and labor on the specific repair performed. If the same issue returns within 90 days due to the repair or parts, we come back at no charge. A lifetime warranty on parts is also available for an additional cost — ask us about it when we quote your repair.
My refrigerator is making a loud clicking or knocking noise — what is it?
Clicking is often the compressor’s start relay failing — the relay tries and fails to start the compressor repeatedly. Knocking or banging can be a failing compressor or a loose condenser fan blade. Both are worth having looked at soon before they lead to a full failure.
