Meet the Owner

Phil Steiber

“I got into this business because I genuinely love fixing things — and because homeowners deserved better than what they were getting.”

Phil Steiber has been repairing appliances since 1983. What started as a hands-on passion became a lifelong calling. Over the course of four decades, Phil developed expertise across virtually every major appliance brand and model on the market — gas, electric, old, new, simple, and complex.

In August 2010, Phil officially founded Service First Appliance Repair in Colorado Springs. His philosophy was simple: show up on time, be honest about what’s needed, do the job right, and stand behind your work. That philosophy earned Service First a BBB A+ accreditation within just one year of opening.

Today, Phil still works in the field alongside his team of certified technicians. He believes that an owner who stays close to the work is an owner who keeps quality high. When Phil sends a technician to your home, it’s because he trusts that person completely — because he trained them himself.

From 1983 to Today

1983

Phil Steiber Begins His Career in Appliance Repair

Phil discovers a passion for diagnosing and fixing appliances — a craft he’ll spend the next four decades mastering across every major brand.

2010

Service First Appliance Repair Founded — Colorado Springs, CO

In August 2010, Phil officially launches Service First with a mission to bring honest, expert appliance repair to the Colorado Springs community.

2011

BBB A+ Accreditation Earned

Within one year of opening, Service First earns Better Business Bureau A+ accreditation — recognition of an exceptional track record of customer satisfaction and ethical business practices.

2017

Nikki & Mark Join the Team

Service First expands. Nikki takes over scheduling and customer relations, while certified technician Mark joins Phil in the field — allowing the team to serve more customers without compromising quality.

2020

Mitch Joins as Certified Technician

Mitch joins the Service First family, bringing additional capacity and certified expertise. Despite industry challenges during this year, the team continues to show up for Colorado Springs.

TODAY

Still Serving Colorado Springs — Stronger Than Ever

Phil, Nikki, Mark, and Mitch continue serving all metro Colorado Springs and surrounding communities. The BBB A+ rating remains intact. Every repair still backed by the 90-day parts & labor warranty.
